The emulator became a free software under the GPL permit on 2 April 2001. Despite an proclamation by adventure_of_link stating that "ZSNES is NOT pulseless, it's still in process" prefabricated on the ZSNES resides after the feat of its innovational developers zsKnight and _Demo_[1], developing has slowed downwards dramatically since its measure variation (1.51 released on 24 Jan 2007). Untold of the developing efforts centralized on worthy in that it was among the ones forwarded to emulate most SNES improvement chips at any rate. Until writing 1.50, ZSNES featured netplay via Protocol or UDP.

Due to being shorthand in low-level installation faculty for x86 processors, it is not achievable to port ZSNES to devices using Architecture processors. Otherwise than the initial Xbox, no mainstream recreation emblem has ever utilised an x86 processor.

ZSNES is arguably the most general and maximal rated SNES emulator addressable. It has been also reportable as the uncomparable Super NES emulator usable for Linux. Brits gritty storage Retrospective Gamer titled ZSNES "very astonishing" and praised the "astounding friend norm" in 2005.It also has a laurels of existence one of the fastest SNES emulators disposable.

Yet, developers and advocates of competing emulators oftentimes notice ZSNES for its relatively resourceless truth and beingness inscribed in x86 building, meaningful non-portability across processor architectures and spot effort to improve and maintain.

Fusion

Kega Fusion (also know as simply Fusion) is a emulator that works with a wide range of Sega consoles like the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis, Sega CD, Sega 32X, Master System, Game Gear, SG-1000, and SC-3000. It was working only in Windows systems until version 3.52 when it was ported to Mac OS and 3.62 for Linux. It was created based on Kega and is the sucessor of Kega Lazarus.

Unlike most Genesis emulators, Kega Fusion focus mainly on precision as opposed to speed and other characteristics like netplay, video recording, and many other we can find in other emulators like Gens, which doesn't necessarly mean it's a slow emulator (even in slow processors like Pentium II or similar, Kega can run stable 60 frames per second with Genesis ROMs, in fact, with the popular 2xSal graphic filter it's processing power in order to attain 60 fps has to be bigger (you can notice that in Sega 32x fastest emulation, where you still need a 850mhz or better processor).

ePSXe

ePSXe (enhanced PSX emulator) is a PlayStation for 32 bits for Microsoft Windows or Linux compatible systems. ePSXe is closed source with the exception of the application programming interface (API) for its plug-ins. Unlike what many people seem to believe, it doesn't support PS2 emulation.

As with many modern emulators, ePSXe makes use of plug-ins to emulate GPU, SPU (sound), and CD-ROM drive functions, a model first established in PSEmu Pro. Games can be loaded from the computer's CD drive or from one of many types of CD images directly from the user's hard drive.

Unlike a few alternative PlayStation emulators that are able to use high level emulation to mimic the effect of the PlayStation's BIOS, ePSXe functions with an image of an official Sony PlayStation BIOS. Since the various PlayStation BIOS images are copyrighted by Sony, it is illegal to distribute them. For this reason, ePSXe does not come bundled with any of the PlayStation BIOS images, requiring the user to provide one for the emulator.

System requirements

ePSXe's stated system requirements are:
·                     Processor: Pentium 200 MHz, recommended Pentium 3 at 1 GHz
·                     RAM: 256 MB RAM, recommended 512 MB RAM
·                     Video card: 3D capable video card with support for OpenGL, DirectX, or Glide
·                     Operating system: Windows or Linux
·                     CD-ROM: 16x or faster (optional)

PCSX2

PCSX2 is an open-source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. In its latest stable release, many PS2 games are playable, and several games have full functionality. The main bottleneck in PS2 emulation is emulating the multi-processor PS2 on a PC x86 architecture. Although each CPU can be emulated well, accurately synchronizing the CPUs is very difficult.

The project has been running for almost seven years now, and since it's initial release has grown in compatibility. From initially just being able to run a few public domain demos, it's current state enables many games to boot and actually be perfectly playable, such as the 'famous' Final Fantasy X or Devil May Cry 3.

Following is a short list of system requirements for running PCSX2:

Minimum
·                     Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Linux
·                     CPU that supports SSE2 (Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 64)
·                     GPU that supports DirectX 9.0 (NVIDIA GeForce FX series or ATi Radeon R300 series)
·                     1 GB RAM

Recommended (will run 50-60fps)
·                     Windows XP, Vista, 7 or Linux 32/64 bit
·                     Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz or AMD Phenom 3.5 GHz or faster CPU
·                     GPU that supports DirectX 10 (NVIDIA GeForce GTX series or ATi Radeon HD 2000 series or later)
·                     2 GB RAM (3 GB or more if using Windows Vista or Windows 7)

Dolphin

Dolphin is an open source Nintendo GameCube, Wii, and Triforce emulator for Microsoft Windows, Linux, and OS X. It was the first emulator to successfully run commercial Nintendo GameCube and Wii games, and is the only emulator capable of running commercial Wii games. Its name refers to the Nintendo Dolphin, which was the development codename for the GameCube. Most games run perfectly or with minor bugs. Games are playable at
HD quality, up to 1080p. This is a remarkable feature the actual Gamecube and Wii consoles are not capable of. As an open source project everyone can commit improvements. The code is hosted on code.google.com. Dolphin is actively developed and almost every day new features are added and bugs fixed as well.

System Requirements

Dolphin runs best on a computer with a 3 GHz or higher dual-core processor, and a graphics card that supports the latest versions of DirectX, OpenGL, and OpenCL. Preferable graphics cards are those manufactured by Nvidia or ATI. Dolphin is able to accept input from a mouse, keyboard, joypad, joystick, Wii Remote, and microphone.
·                     Windows XP or higher, or Linux, or MacOSX Intel.
·                     Fast CPU with SSE2.
·                     GPU with Pixel Shader 2.0 or greater. Not all integrated graphics chips work.

Features

Dolphin comes with many features. Some are even not available on the original Wii gaming console.
·                     You can save a running game whenever you want and reload a state.
·                     Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering makes the games more brilliant and realistic. Typically a game looks much better on Dolphin than on the original Wii console. Actual quality depends on the graphics card.
·                     Play on maximum resolution in high definition up to 1080p. This is a remarkable feature the original Wii console lacks of.
·                     Connect your Wiimote and Nunchuck to your computer for a better gaming experience.

As you can see Dolphin is just like your Wii even though it more closer to the gamecube platform.
